Hi, you can try http://www.rent-acoder.com as an outsourcing website. THe buyers, neither the coders are/wount be sided there. I speak from experience, and favorising the buyers is the worst thing(even if it could harm the business).

You may check it out, fees as 5% for freelancers

> once because our hosting service went belly up and we didn’t get our emails.

Send complain to your hosting, OK? Quotation from RentACoder's message: "You have a maximum of 3 business days to respond (or 5 business days if you are a buyer being asked to either accept a work 100% or produce a flaw list)."

You can't recognize hosting's "belly up" 3 days long? You don't know how to use another e-mail address ?

Btw, you write "twice", but you forgot to describe your second claim to RentACoder.

> Ian Ippolito cheats the underdogs and screws everyone else

Ian and RentACoder's staff clean out RentAcoder from cheaters. This is not a game, this is business.

> No point in wasting time with him.

Good buy. And I am going to complete my 555+ project

www.guru.com and www.elance.com are the others. Rentacoder is the place to go for cheap coding, elance is more expensive but probably( cant say for sure though ) better quality.I took the plunge about 2 months ago with a project that I had which had written VERY clear specifications. In the bid request I made it clear I was after a long term relationship with a high quality developer not the cheapest cowboy. I was very lucky I had a brilliant developer from India apply. The original specification was for $US100 for what I would estimate to be about 2-3 weeks of full time work. The level of quality was far higher than I expected.I do know about people who have been burnt though so beware. s.

Over about 60 projects and two years I've found rentacoder far superior to Elance in terms of quality, ease of use and professionalism.

Is that really fair? To pay someone so cheaply JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN? Did you only make $100 yourself on the project? Just because he is in India his time is not worth 1/30th of an American/European ?

I think you can run into cowboys. I currently have a canadian coder, and he is fast, rather intelligent, and cares about the quality. I have also been burned. choose well, and don't be afraid to inteview. My bad experience relate to rusian coders. But lately rentacoder is up and down like a yoyo.
