Why the BBC Fails at the Internet

December 5th, 2007

In the past I have been guilty at times of imagining that everywhere else they do things really properly… and if not properly per se, then at least much, much better.  This weird point of view has often held me back from attempting something because, well, the mythical they must be working on this right now and about to launch it next week.

So it’s heart-warming to me to learn of the right royal mess the Beeb are in in Why the BBC Fails at the Internet and working with antiquated, hobbled, out-sourced perl. What a mess, no wonder people left, but it’s also heart-warming to learn that they managed to do ANYTHING at all… and excel even.
