When designing a web site it is often very easy to put a lot of effort into designing the home page and neglect pages deeper in the site, and yet it is normally the category-oriented pages that are the ones people use the most, they become "alternative home pages".

Often, a good approach to designing a site, rather from the home page down, is to thing of the Landing Pages you will need, making sure they fit the needs of your FirstTimeVisitor and ReturningCustomer.
